On December 27, 2020, the President signed the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA).  Richland Community College received $682,755 in CRRSAA funds to disburse to students and $2,623,763 in institutional funds from the Department of Education.

Unlike the CARES Act, CRRSAA requires Richland Community College to prioritize students with exceptional need. Students that received Title IV aid in the Spring 2021 semester were determined to be eligible for CRRSAA funds. Funds were awarded based on the student EFC from the 2020-2021 FAFSA and credit hours enrolled at the time of disbursement. Richland disbursed $406,787 to 1,276 students in March 2021.

An application for additional CRRSAA funds was opened up to all students who were enrolled in Spring 2021.  One hundred thirty five applications were approved and $63,856.26 was disbursed to students in April and May 2021.

For Summer 2021, all registered students received a CRRSAA disbursement based on the number of credit hours they were enrolled in. Richland disbursed $265,631 to 643 students in June 2021.

All CARRSAA funds designated for student assistance have been expended as of 6/30/2021. An additional $388,895 of institutional designated funds were used for student assistance.
